Robert Francis Boyd

Robert Francis Boyd, 95, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Savannah on June 14, 2009.

Mr. Boyd was born in Wadley, Georgia on November 26, 1913, the son of the late Etta and Elmer Boyd. Frank was a charter member of the Whitefield United Methodist Church. He was a 37 year employee of Union Camp Corporation in Savannah now International Paper, and was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was also a Mason. Mr. Boyd and his late wife Joyce were longtime golfers and had been members of Mary Calder Gold Club and The Savannah Golf Club for many years.

Mr. Boyd was married for sixty-seven years to his late wife, Joyce Yeomans Boyd, and is survived by his son, Robert Bob Francis Boyd, Jr., and his wife, Patty Boyd; son, Frederick Fred Lee Boyd, and his wife, Amy Boyd; granddaughter, Angela P. Jackson; grandson, Bryan F. Boyd, Andrew R. Boyd, and Michael M. Boyd; great-grandchildren, Joshua and Annabelle Jackson.

Graveside services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 18, 2009 at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Park with the Rev. Dr. Grover Bell officiating.
